Welcome to Greenwin: Palace Arms

1. Conical Roof

The conical roof will be salvaged, reclad, and reinstated atop the reconstructed turret at its original location.

2. Stone & Structural Elements

The rusticated stone window sills, string courses, and lintels (structural beams) on all three storeys will be salvaged, restored, and reinstated within the reconstructed facade at their original location.

3. Historic Brick Arches

The three arches that are currently bricked-in will be reconstructed and the openings will be reinstated based on archival photos.

4. "Palace Arms" Signage

The "Palace Arms" signage will be removed while the restoration work is underway. As part of the new building, it will be reinstalled in place and painted a complementary colour to the new heritage facade.

5. Columns

All six decorative columns will be salvaged and reinstated within the reconstructed building at their original location.

6. Structural & Decorative Trim Elements

The continuous lintel (structural beam) and dentil moulding (decorative trim) running above the ground floor will be salvaged and reinstated within the reconstructed building at their original location.

7. Wood Elements

The continuous wood cornice running above the windows in the second storey will be reinstated based on archival photos within the reconstructed façade in its original location.

8. Stone Structural Elements

The continuous rusticated stone lintels (structural beams) above the basement windows will be salvaged, restored, and reinstated within the reconstructed façade at their original location.

9. Stained Glass Windows

Two original stained glass transom windows will be salvaged and incorporated into the new window assemblies within this façade.

10. Bay Window

The oriel (bay) window will be salvaged, restored, and reinstated within the reconstructed façade in its original location.

11. Decorative Moulding & Elements

The cornice (decorative moulding) and two carved corbels (decorative elements) will be salvaged, restored, and reinstated within the reconstructed façade in their original location. These will also be used as references to create replicas for the entranceway to the north.

12. Historic Brick Openings

The bricked-in openings will be restored and replicated to match their historic appearance, while some may be enlarged to meet building codes and accommodate the site’s new uses.
